Dreams Tulum is a beautiful
Hacienda style property, now with
a new Dreams suite section.
Our family had the pleasure of
vacationing here for 6 nights in
April 2004. There has been a lot
of updates since our stay so I will
be posting those just as soon as I
can. Our thoughts and personal
pictures from the vacation are
detailed below.

Secluded on the beach, with the Tulum ruins in sight, this all-inclusive resort graces
two miles of powder white beach. You can walk for miles and miles, with no one
else around! If genuine rest and relaxation are what you are looking for, then this is
definitely the resort for you!

The Sunscape offers 231 rooms, with 42 of these being ocean view. The buildings
are laid out in a hacienda courtyard style. There are 4 separate blocks of buildings
that have deluxe standard and junior suites. The junior suites are located on the
corners of each building. We enjoyed our ocean view deluxe room, which is located
in one of only 2 ocean view buildings. These rooms have either 2 double beds or 1
king bed in each room. The junior suites have a separate sitting area.

The Kids Club

We can't say enough great things about the Kids Club at the Sunscape. Your children
from ages 6 months and up are welcomed into the Kids Club, with open arms. They really
try to make the children feel like it is their own playroom and backyard, but with great
attention to the safety and security of each child there. Our daughters, Kiersten and
Skylar, would literally cry and beg us to stay just a while longer, each day. Fanny,
Yessinia, and Ophfelia took such great care of them! With arts and crafts, video games,
Spanish lessons, games on the beach, sand castle building contests, face painting, and
much more, our girls never lacked for an activity. A very fun activity that all the children
enjoy is the camp out from 5-11pm, one night a week. You can see them setting up the
tents below, as well as some pictures of the girls having a great time at the Kids Club!

Fast Facts:

Location: Sunscape Tulum is located on the southeast coast of Mexico's Yucatan
Peninsula. Five minutes north of Tulum, the ancient Mayan ruins and 75 minutes
south of Cancun International airport.

Accommodations: All guest rooms and Suites offer superior amenities including: 2
double beds or 1 king size bed, furnished private balcony or terrace with hammocks,
air-conditioning and ceiling fans, fully equipped bathroom with hair dryer, scale and
vanity mirror, cable TV, mini bar stocked daily with sodas, beer and water, electronic
safe with deposit box, CD player, coffee/tea maker, iron and ironing board, and
turndown service.

Activities Center: Offers daily activities program by the pool and beach, non
motorized water sports equipment including catamarans, paddleboats, kayaks,
boogie boards, snorkeling, banana boats, and sailboats. Also tennis and
paddle-tennis lighted courts, soccer field, beach volleyball court, bicycle center, board
games, shuffleboard, bocce ball and horseback riding. Introductory scuba diving
lessons in pool area. PADI Diving Center (not included in package). Fully equipped
Fitness Center. Guided bicycle tours to Tulum, Mayan archaeological ruins.

Explorer's Kids Club: Fully supervised children's program. Kids will enjoy arts &
crafts, horseback riding excursions, sand castle competitions, weekly camp out
adventure, big screen movie on the beach and ocean trampoline.

Teens Club: Fully supervised teen program. Teens will enjoy a variety of exciting
land and sea adventures, outings, competitions, and excursions.

Metamorphosis Spa: World-class, body and facial treatments indoor and outdoor
with massage areas. Unique indigenous treatments with natural springs.

Dining: La Hacienda serves buffet and continental breakfast as well as buffet for
lunch and dinner. In the afternoon, you can enjoy tea time. The ocean view
restaurant, El Charro, offers a la carte breakfast and Mexican cuisine specialities for
dinner. Casanova offers fine dining Italian cuisine, Senggigi restaurant offers Asian
Cuisine specialities and Gohan's offers Sushi Bar. Room service is available 24 hours.

Bars: A total of four bars including: Barefoot Beach Bar, Mediterranean Bar,
Hacienda Bar and Patio Bar.

Entertainment: Open air Theatre with nightly entertainment including beach
theme parties and live shows. Note from Nancy: If you are looking for a lot of
nightly entertainment, with a real party atmosphere, this is not the resort for you.
Sunscape, while having activities and shows, tends to quiet down around 11pm.
There are nightly excursions to dance clubs with the activities staff, however.
